SUBJECT: Weekly Report for Period Ending 22 July 1983
1. Progress reports on tasks assigned by DCI/DDCI:
None pending.
2. Items/events of interest:
c. The Survey of Intelligence Collection Systems course ended on
13 July. This three-day course was attended by 13 students from the DI and
DS$T. The second running of the Agency Orientation and Office Procedures
began on 14 July with 58 students.
d. Representatives from the Psychiatric Operations Division, Office
of Medical Services, are currently conducting hostage negotiations techniques
training for
f. On 14 July representatives from the Office of Logistics met with
officials from the General Services Administration (GSA) and the National
Capital Region at GSA's request to identify Agency buildings which we plan
to vacate when we occupy the new building on the Headquarters compound. It
was agreed that this information could only be provided on a classified basis
and would be very tentative at this time.

g. The Security Education Group (SEG), Office of Security, is
nearing the completion of its project revising the EOD Security Indoctri-
nation and Security Awareness Programs. As part of this effort, a videotape
has been prepared wherein the Director of Security provides a general
overview of basic security practices and procedures. Other SEG efforts in this
area include additional videotape presentations, a new "generation" of slides,
and related briefing materials.
h. On 15 July.the Director of Security met with his State Department
counterpart and officials from other agencies with representation abroad.
The meeting was dedicated to discussions and plans for enhanced security in
American posts overseas to lessen the threat posed by incidents such as the
Beirut bombing. As a result of this meeting there is an effort to develop a
formal interagency agreement with emphasis directed at combating the various
threats which could be mounted against U.S. installations overseas.
