In my comment on the Future Imaging Requirements Study, the statement by
Dan Hutchinson from AAC regarding "the need for a DIA or Defense version of
COMIREX to develop Defense imagery requirements on a broad basis"
unfortunately was subject to misinterpretation. Hutchinson's remark was in
response to a complaint from the DIA member of the Working Group that a
unified, consistent set of military requirements were not presented to the IC
committees by the military, but were submitted piecemeal by individual
members. Mr. Hutchinson was suggesting that Defense should "get its act
together" if it is felt that its requirements were not being satisfied by the
national level mechanisms. I do not believe any action is required by the IC
Staff on this matter.
