Dear Ms. Page:
In response to your letter of June 7th requesting
that Mr. Corte of my staff be made available to partici-
pate in the Working Group on Machine Assisted Translation
of Japanese scientific and technical documents, I am
pleased to concur in Mr. Corte's participation on the
condition that this will involve no financial commitment
from this bureau nor significantly detract from his
assigned duties. While Mr. Corte's present position is
not connected with US-Japanese scientific affairs, we
recognize that the expertise he gained in sponsoring the
MIT workshop on U.S. Access to Japanese Scientific and
Technical Information is of value to other areas of the
government.
