SUBJECT: Special Planning Group Meeting (U)
The first meeting of the Special Planning Group will take place
on January 26, 3:00-4:00 p.m, in the White House Situation Room.
This group was mandated by NSDD 77, Public Diplomacy Relative
to National Security, signed by the President on January 14, 1983.
A copy of the agenda is attached. (C)
I look forward to initiating this important new management
structure with you. I hope that each of you will be able to
attend so that I may have your views as we work.together to
strengthen our ability to carry out the President's program.
As we are aware, we have two principal themes:
-- to foster the infrastructure of democracy
-- to engage in a peaceful competition of ideas
