A copy of PFIAB's agenda for the 14-15 September meeting is attached. The following items are provided for your use at this meeting: -- Talking Points. Talking points prepared byl lof the NiG Analytic Group cover the following topics: -- The Soviet Shootdown of KAL Flight 007. (Briefing board available). -- Hostilities in Lebanon. (Two briefing boards: Lebanon and Beirut/Shuf area). -- Developments in Central America. (Two briefing boards: El Salvador and Nicaragua). -- Pakistan: Troubles in Sind Province. (Briefing board available). -- Chile: Domestic Problems. -- Philippines: Implications of the Aquino Assassination. -- Watch Committee Report, 9 September. I have included this report as a reminder of those areas of concern to the Intelligence Community. -- NSA Input on Technology Transfer. NSA has submitted for your possible use a brief item entit ed Technology Transfer: The Effects of This Growing Problem on the US Intelligence Community. -- DDO/NRO Input. NRO briefed PFIAB on 30 August in support of FFIAB's review of NRO organization and management; a copy of their presentation is included. I have also included Anne Armstrong's letter to Paul Thayer soliciting his views on intelligence support to the military and Thayer's talking paper by the OSD Staff in response to Armstrong's request. This memo outlines the nature of the support process now in existance, the material 0 recommends be provided to PFIAB and his recommendations on how to handle this PFIAB study. -- Soviet Radar PFIAB has expressed interest in a report on t is eve opment and our views on its relation to arms control issues. ACIS has prepared talking pointsand a briefing board. -- CIA Support to PFIAB. This list, provided by office, covers CIA support from 11 July thru 15 September 198 . It is a good indicator of PFIAB's areas of interest. A briefing board on the situation in Chad is also available. (See Watch Committee Report).
