I am a professional historian working on a book about the
controversy that developed between President Truman and Douglas
MacArthur during the Korean War.
I write to ask review and declassification, under the terms of
the Freedom of Information Act and the currently governing Executive
Order, of any information in your files, for the period 1 January
1950 - 1 September 1951 that specificallyconcerns General of the
Army Douglas MacArthur.
I am not interested in reports by him. Rather my concern is
any reports from CIA sources about him.
I would appreciate your prompt response, as the law requires,
to this request.
