I would like to thank you and your staff for assistance
in preparations for the third meeting of the U.S.-China Joint
Economic Committee last month.
Numerous papers were prepared at the request of the
Treasury Department for use by Secretary Regan and the rest of
the U.S. Delegation. Without exception these papers were
excellent: they more than met the informational needs of the
delegation and provided a wealth of timely comprehensive anal-
yses on China. My commendations for a job well done and my
personal thanks to all of those who helped us in these
preparations.
