Percy Chairman Committee on Foreign Relations United States Senate Washington, D.C. 20510 f3 This is in response to your letter of 26 October forwarding excerpts from classified Senate Foreign Relations Committee briefings for review by Central Intelligence Agency officials dated: October 10, 1963 (Vietnam), pp. 4-8, 101-104, 111-112 July 19, 1965 (Dominican Republic), pp. 440-441, 444-446, 455-457, 479-482 The review has now been completed. We have no objections to the declassification-of the referenced material, with one excep- tion.. We wish to continue to assert classification in those paragraphs on page 446 of the July 19, 1965 (Dominican Republic) briefings which have been highlighted in yellow. ,Although the information can be downgraded to CONFIDENTIAL, those three paragraphs of the transcript continue to warrant classification under Section 1.3(a)5 of Executive Order 12356, that is, "foreign relations or foreign activities of the United States."
