PUBLIC AFFAIRS Phone: (703) 351.7676 Mr. Galen Reser Director of Illinois Projects Office of the Honorable Charles H. Percy United States Senate Washington, DC 20510 This is to confirm that the CIA briefing of the Lombard, Illinois Businessmen's Association of DuPage County scheduled for 9:I5 a.m. Wednesday, 25 May was cancelled. According to our telephone .conversation of Monday, 23 May, the time change had not been figured in the agenda and the group will be arriving at Dulles Airport at 9:40 a.m. rather than 8:30 a.m. as previously planned. In order for the Association to meet its 11:00 a.m. appointment with Chairman Volcker of the Federal Reserve Board, the CIA briefing had to be cancelled. We hope that despite the change in the group's agenda, their trip to Washington will be useful and informative. I will fully explain to our group of business and political leaders of DuPage County that the CIA does not have any regular tours, inasmuch as it consists of merely a large number of offices and-there is literally nothing to see. But I will advise them that they can go directly to the Agency facilities, meet in a small auditorium, and that either you or John McMann would see that they have a general, non- classified briefing. Their plane arrives at Dulles at 8:30 a.m. and they would probably be at the Agency by 9:15, as they are due at the Federal Reserve at 11:00 a.m. I am most grateful for your cooperation and support in this regard.
