EASTERN ILLINOIS UNIVERSITY
CHARLESTON, ILLINOIS 61920
April 11, 1983
Office of the President
Mr. William J. Casey
Director of Central Intelligence
Central Intelligence Agency
Washington, D.C. 20505
Dear Mr. Casey:
It was indeed an honor for me to be part of a small group
of presidents to meet with you, John McMahon, and other.
members of your staff for a day-long briefing on the activities
of the Central Intelligence Agency. Not only was your hospi-
tality warm, and the atmosphere cordial, but I felt that the
information provided and your response to our questions were
offered in an open, constructive, and sincere way.
As you may know, I have done a variety of things associated
with state and federal governments, but I can.think of no
single experience that has made me prouder than the briefing
you provided. You can be properly proud of the high quality
professional staff with whom you work.
I have spoken to many of my colleagues here at Eastern about
the marvelous opportunities for employment afforded by the
CIA. We would be delighted if you would include Eastern
Illinois University among the institutions you use to recruit
high quality staff. Again let me tell you how grateful I am for
the opportunity, and wish you continued success in the very
vital role you play in the health of our nation.
Daniel E. Marvin, Jr.
President
