Y. 10027 GRADUATE SCHOOL. OF=F.USINFSS PROGRAM FOR STUDIFS OF THE MODERN CORPORATION The Honorable William J. Casey Director Central Intelligence Agency Washington, D. C. 20505 Dear Mr. Casey, please reply to: 251 East 51st Street New York, New York 10022 February 9, 1983 You will recall that some time ago and I came to visit you in your office on the occasion of asking your advice about fun ing a special project on the private enterprise system by a foundation of which bot and I were trustees. You may be inter- ested to know our advice was followed; the grant was made, and the project has been extremely successful. I now write on another matter. A colleague of mine from UCLA - Graduate School of Business Administration, Professor and I are working on a book. on corporate intell:ige. was one of the authors of the book STAT STAT STAT STAT STAT STAT 01/Al STAT I would like to ask if you would provide me with any unclassified material on the subject of business intelligence. If such material is available, and related to specific. companies, might the corporate names be eliminated? Our objective is to be useful to the business community, not otherwise, and I have had a good deal of private support from senior executives in major corporations. Naturally, it would be helpful if I could discuss the matter with you personally, and should be pleased to come to Washington to do so. For example, the history of the nomenclature of classified information is a subject we deal with briefly, and this, too, I think you would find interesting, and is a subject I would like to go over with you. Casey -2- February 9, 1983 I. know you have vastly more important things to do than to help a professor on a research and writing project, but I have thought that because of the nature of the research, and its inherent interest, and the people involved, that you might find some time to discuss it, and to ask someone on your staff to provide some related unclassified materials. Sincerely, STAT RE:nw Approved For Release 2008/07/31 : CIA-RDP85M00364RO01903710112-0
