SUBJECT: Violation of Security Regulation Pertaining to
the National Intelligence Daily (C)
1. On 3 June 1983, you advised me that CIA records showed that the
National Intelligence Daily (NID) delivered to me and dated May 14,
21, 23 and 24, 1983 had not been returned to CIA. Records on file
in the Defense ence Agency's Special Security Office (SSO)
show that (14 May 1983) was recei t d for b CIA 25X1
Courier and returned to CIA on 27 May 1 th (21 25X1
May 1983), (23 May 1983) and May 1983) 25X1
were receipted for by CIA Courier and returned to CIA onI June
1983. I would appreciate your cooperation in confirming that these
NID copies have, in fact, been received by CIA.
2. Effective 1 June 1983, my copy of the NID is being returned by
courier to the SSO the same day that it is delivered to me in order
to ensure that the document is returned to CIA promptly and that I
am in full compliance with security regulations pertaining to the
