SUBJECT: Recommended Assignment to the National Security
Agency of Responsibi:i':p.for and Control of ELINT
Processing and Analysis
REFERENCE: Memorandum for the Secretaries of State and
Defense, dated July 25, 1958, from the Executive
Secretary, NSC
This is to advise that as of July 31, 1958, the Secretary of
State and the Secretary of Defense, as members of the Council's
Special Committee for COMINT, reported concurrence in your
recommendation on the subject as contained in the reference
memorandum.
There are now being circulated to the NSC the proposed
revisions of NSCIDs which have been received by this office, one
of which appears to carry out the above-mentioned recommendation
which has been approved by the Special Committee for CO1s2NT.
It is assumed, therefore, that unless otherwise advised, the sub-
mission of proposed revisions of NSCIDs constitutes completed
action with respect to that recommendation.
