1. Attached is the information you requested on the
locations and activities
of North Korean nationals working in the
Soviet Union.
2. Recently discovered in Khabarovskiy Kray, in the Soviet
Far East, are two small logging and timber processing towns where
North Koreans make up the majority of the labor force.
Each town has at least two large
signs with patriotic slogans which would only be appropriate for
North Korean nationals. (See attachments) The towns are located
on a railroad line (see map) that connects the Trans-Siberian
Railroad to Urgal, a main junction on the Baikal-Amur Mainline.
