1. SIGNIFICANCE: EXTENSIVE DAMAGE AT A PETROLEUM REFINERY
AND STORAGE AREA.
2. LOCATION: HIMS PETROLEUM REFINERY AND STORAGE
IS 3.5 NAUTICAL MILES 25X1
WEST OF HIMS AT 34-43-10N 03'6-38-40E.
3. MISSION READOUT: AT THE HIMS PETROLEUM REFINERY AND
STORAGE, AT LEAST 19 FUEL STORAGE TANKS WERE OBSERVED
DESTROYED OR DAMAGED. THE DAMAGED AREA WAS NEAR THE CENTER
OF THE TANK STORAGE. OTHER TANKS SOUTH AND EAST OF THE
DAMAGED AREA WERE DISCOLORED AND POSSIBLY UNUSABLE. LARGE
OIL SPILLAGE AREAS WERE SEEN WEST AND SOUTH OF THE PLANT.
