SUBJECT : U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Briefing
1. On Monday, 8 March 1982 at 1000-1130 in room 6E60, CIA Headquarters
Building, Major James S. Cary of the Army's Training and Doctrine Command
(TRADOC), will present a briefing on his work in "living systems research,"
an analytical methodology developed over the past 30 years. In conjunction
with the University of Louisville, Army Research Institute, and TRADOC,
Major Cary has used this methodology as a tool to assess the operational
effectiveness of U.S. Army battalions. The attached material highlights
this effort to date. Major Cary will review the methodology and its applica-
tion to U.S. Army forces and is prepared to discuss its potential application
to Soviet ground forces 25X1
2. The briefing will be UNCLASSIFIED; however, the discussion will
likely move into the classified arena. As seating is limite the
names and clearances of those individuals who wish to attend 25X1
by COB Friday, 5 March. 25X1
