In response to your request of 2 August we are
forwarding the attached data on industry capacity and
production trends in major industrial countries. Be-
cause actual capacity figures are not availa}.:le for the
steel industry, rated capacity is used. Actual capacity
normally varies between 5 and 10 percent below rated
capacity. If we can be of any further assistance please
advise.
