The office of ffava Intelligence the following information to CIA for
IAC dissemination in accordance ji`_h ;&:agraph 3c of NSCID #7. This information
was obtained by DIO-311D and was fo:+arded as ORI report 71-C-53-7
1. Approaches: Navigation aide, dertha and other hydrographic information ware found
to be accurate as shown on N 0 ^h.rti now in use. No recent changes in approaches
or in the entrance channel were obacr red.
2. Nov Construction: Reconstruction of Mole #1 Cl! 0 chart #2250) is approaching
completion, This pier, referred to as the "Nev Mail Boat Pier", has upper and lower
levels with vehicle driveways to aervice passenger traffic. Upon completion this
pier will be able to accoaaodate six large vesnela of at least 6000 gross tons.
3. A large refrigeration plant is under conetraction approximately 1/8 mile vest of the
Customs Douse near Mole #1 (Ii 0 Chart #2250). 1
4. Oil storage tanks have been installed east side of "Jette du Nord"(sec
photographs number 11 and 12).
5. Port erations: There has been no noticeable change in port operations or in
eff1clency over the past year. Port labor still consists of natives under European
suVervYsion. The port has been coun)aratively free of shipping during recent months

or more.
