Abstract In dogs with symmetrical parts of the tongue lead
out,
in stimulation of one of these parts with repulsed or
alimentary; substances, unconditioned salivation oc-
curred primarily or exclusively (depending on the force
of stimulation) from the salivary gland which correspon-
ded to the side of stimulation. The side on which a

conditioned reflex forms is determined. by the side of
unconditioned stimulation independently of the site of
conditioned stimulus application, Transfer of stinula--
tion to symetrical parts of US occurs: 1) in the pre-
sence of latent stimulation in these parts; 2) in the
presence on the other side of a clear condition of sti-
mulation, but smaller in intensity than on the first;
3) in an increase of force of stimulation. Thus, the
process of stimulation in CNS) induced by a conditioned
or unconditionel stimulus, sometimes concentrates on one
side, sometimes partially transfers from one side to the
other, sometimes embraces both sides at the same time

ABSTRACT: Some parameters of fluxes !or magnetic storms following
anomalous
absorption in the polar cap (AAPC) were investigated on the basis
of data obtained
at the Dusheti Magnetic Observatory and the ionospheric data for
the IGY. These
parameters are compared with the parameters of usual fluxes.
Also, AAPC
dynamism in the period of the development of a geomagnetic storm
was studied.

boundary of the magnetosphere and that of the geomagnetic field

coriclude that the oestrogens have no favourizing action on
the evolution of endo-
metrial tb since the specific lesions could be found as
frequently in equilibrated

The new method proposed is based on the determination
of the dose -th reshold of
oxytocic substances (first glanduitrin, later
ergobasin tartrate or basergill) which,
injected intravenously, provoke a uterine response.
The uterine contractions were
recorded with the aid of Lorand's unipolar mechanical
tocograph in 248 wornen
between the 4th and the 9th months of pregnancy, in 25
wonitm in labour and in 10
puerperac. The uterine excitability increases
progressively from 1 V.U. of poster-
ior hypophysis extract in the 4th - 5th month,to 0.1
V.U. and from 25 11g. base rgin in
the 7th and 8th month, and in the beginning of the 9th
and to 0.01 - 0.02 V.U. or
1 - 2 pg. basergin at the end of the pregnancy. During
labour the myometrium re-
sponded to 0.005-0.01 V,U. glanduitrin and to I - 2
jug. basergin. During the puer-
perium the uterine excitability decreased rapidly; on
the Sth - 6th day the values
were equal to those observed in the 4th and 5th
months. Changes of these make it
possible to: (1) detect states of hypo- and
hyperexcitability, (2) determine the pro-
gnosis of labour, and (3) select the most suitable
drugs to influence the abnormal
uterine excitability. The method can be used in the
prevention of abortion or pre-
mature delivery, in the prevention of uterine inertia

measuring the effect of external factors (anxiety,
effort, fatigue, cold, heat,etc.) or
of various drugs (hormones, antibiotics, sedatives

nerve cells at the level of the insertion of the
cord into the placenta. It may be
assumed that both the reflexogenous zone at the
level of the umbilical ring and the
group of nerve cells at the site where the cord
enters the placenta in the neighbour-
hood of the anastomotic arterial chinnel take an
active part in the regulation of the
foetal -placental blood flow. Very likely groups of
young nerve cells and especially
types of large cells of a particular aspect form a
special relay in transmitting
nervous stimuli from the foetus to the placenta and
vice versa. Chemical media-
tors are believed to transmit slimulations from the
umbilical zone to the placental
nerve centre and vice versa.
