The crystal is bounded by the planes y = + I Z = + 7 T in the x direction the crystal is long compared with the first Fresnel zone so that it can be assumed to be infinite. Case Il. The crystal is bounded by x - t A, z - t-2 and infinite in the y-direction. 2 2 In both oases a plans monochromatic wave falls the crystal in the direction of a vector situated in the xz-plane. The relative in- tensity S0/T0 of the reflected waves is calculated, where S and T are the amplitudes of the reflected and of the incoming hve. Seriya fiziko- matematicheskikh nauk, 1960, Vol. 13, No. 5, pp. 65 - 71 TEXT: . The paper is a continuation of (Ref. 1) where the same problem was considered for the case of a non-absorbing crystal. The authors investigate the dependence of the intensity of reflected Roentgen waves on the orientatio+f the plane of incidence with respect to a crystal which is un- bounded in one direction and bounded in two directions. Two cases are con- sidered t 1) the inciding wave lies in the xz-plane and the crystal is in- finitely extended (ooA BYC) in the x-direction; 2) th- inciding wave lies in the xz-plane and the crystal is infinitely extended (AX oo;
