ABSTRACTa The reason for Investigating them* systems was the necessity of
finding low-selting b&the for sulphidising the surface of metal
products. The binary system (K&CNS)2 (CH3 COON02 forms a
eut*ctic. The blAarv systems (N&CNS)2 NA2 8203 and
(CH 2COOS&)2 - X&28203 could not be investigated since the
components decompose on heating before they are melted. The
terwary system Na*p cxs-, S 0 2. , CH COO- (Table 1, Figs 1, 2)

has three crystallization fields of Its components meeting in
the eutectic point at 2220 and the composition of 32%(CH 3COONA)2-

I'lloss-, S 2 03 , C93COO" (Fig 3, Table 2) forms four
crymUllimatlan fields, three of the components and one of the
cospowid 21CNS.CH COOK. The two ternary systems could not be
completely investigated either, since the thermal stability
decreases with an Increasing thionulphate content, and
dooomposition occurs. There are 5 figures, 2 tables, and
2 Soviet references.

~ ~BST ~Ai In recent years, inveoUpUons of magnetic properties of a substance have made
extensive use of polaximed thermal neutrons. Heretofore, the Soviet Union had only installa-

ABSMCT% 'Me author investig.%ted the volt-ampere characteristics of a probe that
was negatively ch&M,%d relative to the discharge plasma in Hg vapors if/
(at a Mazure of e,-*] = Hg) In order to determine the possibility of
IndualiV a self-sustained discharge through the probe. He carried out
experlojents ca a mercury probe, a plane graphite probe, and a spherical
=gaten probe. In the last two cases the design of the discharge tube
was altered In such a way as to eliminate the possibility that drops of
morcury might fall upon the probe. In these same two cases the self-
sustained dischargo was observed to effect a transition from probe

secured on the Hg probe, owing to chaotic back-firing on the glass - mercury boundary.
