Because of its precipitating efrectiveness "Bistrin" is twice as strong as Pectinol; Pectocime 2H and is analogous to the very active substance - Bayers filtrate. "Bistrin" completely purifies fruit juices, does not carry into the converted JzAces any foreign and harmful substances,, and does not change the color,, aroma or tacte of the Juice, "Bistrin" has found broad application in the fruit canning industry of Bulgaria. ***.. 6606 ANGILOV, St., almd. prof. d-r.; MIUMMUMV, Il., (1-r.; GULUBOV, S., d-r. The materials were defibrinated blood from patients; autopsy material from vari- ous organs, and parasites found in human beings and animals. All the materials were treated in a special way to ensure complete bacteriological sterility. They were then injected i. p. into white mice, cats, rabbits and guinea-pigs and were also inoculated into heneggs. Observations on smears and haemagglutination re- actions indicated that haemorrhagic fever is due to a filterable virus. Karaivancrv - Sofia (L, 4. 6) EXCERPTA FEDICA See 6 Vol 13/4 internal Med. Skin tests. carried util wal toxoplasnim prepared by one of the authors (Angetuv), were applied to the following (figures it, brackets indicate numbers of positives): 37 shepherds (22 5991.), 1 11 goats (28 x 25.2%), 138 sheep (4 - 2.9%), 114 head of cattle (5 = 4.317.), 13 horses (I = 7.6%) and 45 dogs (6 - 13.3%). Serological tests were appiied to 101 patients (22). 4 goath (3). 19 sheep (3), 9 head of call1v (1). 1 horse (0). and 6 dogs (6). It is concluded that there is litte correlation between the incidence tit mail and aninials, that the disease is widespread in both man and animals tit Bulgaria and that toxoplasmosis is often manifested in the form of mental defect, psychological disturbances and ocular and other anomalies. Abstract: The cholinergic alkaloid galanthamine or nivaline, first obtained from Galanthus nivalis and now from much richer Leucojum aestivum, was tentatively administered as a 0.25 or 0.5% solution of the hydrobromide to 13 cattle, 5 sheep, 8 horses, 31 dogs; 171 separate tests; all s.c.; various pharmacologic details in the species named are described. Optimal doses as % of body weight differ considerably in these animals. Some literature data on the same topic are discussed also. ,'~L%C.I( V , V . :i,.- p] i f irr 8 1 T. 2C 9, lc),~( ~Jdl A 'i EC! The spectra of these non-alloyed n-type crystals were recorded by a ZMR-3 1 spectrograph and a FEU-28 photomultiplier. Radiative re~covibination at 77 and 150H, was iinvestigated in the current density range 7-10 3 < j < 6 a/cm-2. The excitation level Iwas 2.1023 see-' Cn-3 < 2-102b cm-3-sec-1. Within the limits of the meastirement iorrors, the obtained phonon energy values coincided with klata obtained by other re- Isearchers, e. g., LO = 0.049 1 0.002 ev, AC = 0.014 ' 0.002 ev.
