ABSTRACT The electrolytic process for the production of
sorbitol has ueen investigated. A flow sheet for
the process is f~iven and conditions for itn opera-
ticn are described. The effect of the ilaturte of
the cathode, temperature, and current. deri::4ty on
current efficiency and yield of product has ceen
investigated. Optimum red4ction conditions have
been determined, assurrinr 50-60% current efficieT,
