ABSTRACTs The conversion spectra of some gadoliniun isotopes with
long periods were investigated here. They were obtained by
a long-term irradiation of the tantalum target in a scattered
proton-beam with an energy of 660 MeV. First the fractior
of rare earths was separated from tantalum according to
ordin&ry chemical methods and then the pure gadolinium
fraction which mainly contained neutron-unnaturated isotopea
was alaparated according to the chromatographic method. The
activ* material was collected on a thin aluminum foil. Thp
Investigation of the spectrum of conversion electrons was
performed by means of the magnetic spectrometer - the ketron
of th4 University of Leningrad (ref. 2) which has a diesolving

to pasis with an energy of more than 7 keV. The meaeurementi
of speotrum were made one month after the termination of the
target irradiation and were aeveral times repeated in th"
courue of the following year. It became evident that the
slowly changing part of the conversion spectrum belongs to
Gd153 and 04151. Moreover the lines belonging to the
gadolinium isotopes with shorter periods, which the authors
hade bocome acquainted with in earlier investigations. wpros

of (;dT?)j is dealt with here. k survey of the data published
on Gd 1153 is given. From the comparison of those in con-
oluded that the part of the conversion spectrum investigated
here bulongs to Gd153. It is shown that in the transition
with W3,3 keV the ratio KoL - 6,4,.+-0,3 indicates that this
transition predominantly belongs to the 9 1 - type (perhape
with a small E2-admixture). In the transition with 9?,4 kev
the magnitude of the ratio KiL a 6,9.tO,5 indicates that
this transition either belongs to 9 1 or E 1. In the 83 6
keV-transition the ratio KtLPA shows that in this case i 2
possibly with an M 1 - admixture exists. In the 69,8 keV.,
