(USSR ABSTRACT: The sodium salts of the above acids are widely, used as emulsifiers ts. The surface- . . detergents., and wetting agen active tension of salts of sulphonio acids was iiNiesti- gated; reaults of tests on the investigated fractions are given in a table. The surface-active tension of aqueous solutions of the emulsifying agent were determined on the Dyu-Nui apparatus at 200 - 2�00 with the aid of a lamp potentiometer LP-5 with a glass electrode (Fig.1). The sulphur salts of petroleum contaot acids have a lower critical concentration of micelle formation than the sulphur SELltS of gas-oil contact acids. The pH of the solution of the emulsifier influences,tc a certain extent, the surface-active tension. A, small increase can be observed on adding alkali (Fig-2). The authors also conclude that a marked change of the pH occurs when electrolytes are added.
