to the experimental values. At wide scattering angles, the

can be
reduced somewhat by considering that the experimental data
for wide angles
are somewhat too small. There are 2 figures,

ARSTRACT: The Upper Silurian flysch beds of Nura-tau are
composed
of low-grade metamorphosed (phyllite stage) shales,
mudstones, limeston,-%s, and si3icified hornfels (silici-
tied rocks in whicb, in the metamorphism, all the opal
and chalcedony were recrystallized and completely
converted to quartz). The silicified hornfels is
frequently taken for a hydrothermally altered rock
occurring in a fault zone. All the Upper Silurian rocks
contain more or less authigenic silicE, and have been

ABSTRACT:
Carbonaceous material is finely disseminated
through all
the flysch deposits of late Silurian age In
Nura-Wu.,
but the quantity increases sharply in finely
dispersed
rocks (up to several per cent). Several synthetic
ole-
ments belonging to the iron family are closely assooi-
ated with the carbonaceous mterial. Daring assimila-
tion of
sedimentary rocks by magma, the carbonaoeous
material is
incorporated in the melt,, where it becomes
an active reducing
agent. All the iron, which occurs
predominantly in the
oxidized state, goes into such min-
erals as biotite,
hornblende and, in parts almandite.
Card 1/2
An excess of
carbon is developed in the magma which,

migrating into the exogene contact zonep contributes to the
formation of graphite-mica hornfels and schist, and also
facili-
tates the growth of biotite, hornblende and, in part,
almandite.

ABSTRAM. Ma order to boost labor productivity and to cut
:production costs it ie
necessary, in the opinion of the author, to widen the field
of specialization of
of various petroleum workers. The narrow specialization oT
i,orkers, which
exists in various branches of industry,, hinders the
increaoe of labor product-
ivity. There is no doubt that the labor force cannot be
efficiently utilized
when there are a large number of workers who are only able
to perform one
specific job in their narrow specialization. Therefore it is
highly advisable
to revise the qualification range of drillers and other
petroleum workers, and
to widen their specialization. It is uasatisfactory for a
craw specializing
in rotary or turbine drilling to be unable to perform
electrical drilling or
structural drilling. The unification of different related
pr)fessions would
reduce the idle time of workers and increase their
responsibility for the
qual.ity of work. A number of leading enterprises in the
petroleum industry are
already taking advantage of the skill of workers having two
or three profies-
sions. Such workers are usually, better paid. According to
the forecast of

consists of three interconnected units (the defectoscope - 110

the power supply and the accumulator power supply - unspecified
size). Both models
operate at 1.6 and 2-5 Mc, have a minimum sensitivity of 2 =2

defect), and have straight and alanted detector heads (to
introduce waves at 30, 40,
and 500)- The model 11 has a maximum penetration of 750 mm 01i

ABSTRACT: A study of the basic parameters of Hall transducers
made of the
41nAe-InP alloy has been conducted. Experimental specimens were
0.15 to
0.5 mm thick, 2 to 5 mm wide, and 4.5 to 12 mm long. The olunic
contacts were
made by alloying In with mi alloy consisting of In and 5% Ag.
After 2LIi6hing
all specimens were subjected to etching in a 2% boiling solution
of HC1. Rx--_
perimental data were obtained on the temperature dependence-Of
electrical con-
ductivity and the Hall constant, the resistance between input
and Hall. elec-
trodes, the sensitivity, the Hall constant and the dependence of
Hall voltage

on applied magnetic field intensity, the dependence of a specimen
output voltage
on the frequency of control voltage, and the t,-!mpersture
stability of the trans-
ducers. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The
electrical parameters
of the Hall transducers considered permit their utilization for
magnetic field
measurement purposes in various testing equipment. 2) Because of
their high
thennal stability, devices based on 41nAs-InP can operate within
an. ar6bient
temperature of +lOOC and a wide range of atmospheric pressure and
humiclity.
3) A linear veii-ation of the Hall emf as a function of the
applied msgaf~
field intensity facilitates measurements of magnetic fields up to
22,ODO
with an accuracy of 0.5%. Orig. art. has: 6 figures and 2 tables.

ABSTRACT; The purpose of this paper was to examine the
characteristic constanL and
:variable magnetic fields cre,~ted by controlling and Hall
currents. Studies were
made to 1) determine the approximate magnitude of the magnetic
field, 2) to under-
SLand the effect of this field on the magnetometer probe
comperisator, 3) to seleet
the optimum magnitude of the controlling current in order to
m-aaaure various weak
magnetic fields, and 4) to eliminate technological
deficiencie3 which contribute to
the growth of the interfering magnetic field. Astatic
magnetometers and Hall
generators without concentrators were used to measure the
magnetic fields. As a re-
sult of the investigation, the authors found that the Hall
generator magnetic fields
vary within a range which far exceeds the sensitivity of a
magneltometer for weak
fields. It is therefore essential that magnetometers for the
measurement of very
