The problem is characterized by a density discontinuity a- the nozzle. Cy- lindrical coordinates am used with tho Mach number of the free stream, relative heat capacity and relative pressure referred to ambient conditions as parameters. The com- putation method first determines the point where density discontinuity branches out into one going toward the free streamlines and the other toward the axis of symnetry. This method of characteristics is used to integrate the equations of motion. The com- putations werv made for the reference Kach number of 2.8 and 3.2 for various ratios of pressures. The comparison of numerical. computaticns with the experimental data proves the effectiveness of the method used f:ir the determination of the structure of 'the ini- tial section of'such an axisymmetric stream.
