Abstracts eEnglish article,7 It was ostablished earlier
that the stomach wall
contracts . without interruption and that thure are
slow polyphaso ohanges
in the electrogestromyogram corresponding to those
low-aniplitude contractions
of the gastric wall. When these rhythmic contritetions
increave their amplitude,
i.e.. when they become stronger, there are groups of
spike potentials appearing
in the aloctrogastromyogrom. Uperimonts with '15 dogs
were made for the
purpose of estabiishing the relationship betweon the
appear&nce of spike
potontiale and the intensity of the contraction wave.
Strain-gauges were used
to record the contractions of-the gsatrio wall. The
article -presents the
description of experimental procedures, sumnari!zev the
rosulta, compares the now
findings with those of other authors, and diiscu:s: the
pousible connections
between the motor and bioelootric activities of th

TEXT: Cellulose is highly hygroscopic and its tan 6 depends
upon humidity because of the presence of polar hydroxyl groups in
the cellulose molecules. Specimens of sulphate.cellulose made
from beech, and bleached cellulose made from spruce, were
dessicated over a sulphuric acid solution of definite
concentratio
unt-il their loss of weight ceased. They were t1ten placed in e.
capacitor iii the oscillatory circuit of a high-frequency
generatof-.---
Measurement.t at a frequency of 4 Mc/s indicates the losses in
the
capacitor with cellulose by the value of' the generator anode
current. The losses in the cellulose specimen and also losses
