Abstract :In order to raise the milk's fat content in
cows, warm compresses were employed in one
group, in another hot applications. Eighteen
cows took part in the experiments, divided
into 3 groups. At the first stage the prepa-

warm compresses were placed on the udder of
the cows of the first group, hot applications
were used for the cows of the second group,
and the udder of the cows of the third group

established that if the spottinessAs of a

TITLE: Bulgarian Tobacco
PERIODICAL: Nauka i zhizn', 1959, Nr 9, pp 35 - 36 (USSR)
ABSTRACT: The author reports on the development of the tobacco
industry in Bulgaria. In the post war period, the
experimental station was changed into a scientific
research institute. Three experimental stations, two
faculties at higher educational institutions, two
schools and some experimental bases for tobacco-growing
have been established. The average 1959 output of to-
bacco is supposed to be 130,000 tons compared to 43,000
in the 1939-44 period. During the.past years, Bulga-
rian scientists, including the author of this article,
Card 1/2 developed new highly-productive strains of tobacco.
Bulgarian Tobacco
SOV/25-59-9-13/49
The yield of these strains surpasses the former by
25%. Two machines have been designed for stringing
the tobacco leaves which will increase the working
efficiency by 2.5 times. There is*l drawing and 2
photographs.

Title: Residual Microflora on Sterilization of Heat and Fish

Original -
Publication; Mikrobiologiva, 1956, 251 No 2. 2.u-2i6
Abstract: 1,293 cans of meat and fish food products were
investigated to deter-
mine the adequacy of the currently, utilized conditions of
steriliza-
tion of canned foods. In 1.93% of these a residual micraflora
was
detected which consisted of anaerabla and facultative;
anaerobic,
sporogenic microorganisms of -the group Cl. Putrificum Cl.
spor9genes
Bact. Bubtilis and of non-Bporogenic organisms which were
mostly
micrococci. In canned meat products a residual microflora is
en-
countered 3 times more often than JLu canned fish, and in the
former
predominate putrescent sporogenic ankerobia, vbile in the
