TEXT: The author describes spe(jific features of two main types of the
lunar crust developed in elevated and low regions. The outer selenosphere is;
formed by a protosialic type of crust. The thIcknests of this cover Is differul'%
which Is essential in studying polar regions. In sotie places this cover is Cis-
rupted, and It is possible to obscrve there magmatic remelting of rocks and
other phenomena. It is probable that there is a dust cover of tuffs on the
Moon, but it is not contirwous and hati not the same thickness throughout. The
problem of the origin of ring-11ke atruotures is solved In the article. The
following stages in the origination oV the Mare Imbrium are suggested: 1) fcr-
mation of extended dome-like structures, 2) the ruptL.re of convex sections ard

gas liberation from the ral-crustal basin, 3) the rupture of vaulted sections
and eruption of magmatic material in depression, 4) solidification and stabili-
zation. The author presents his vie%point on the geographic division into re-
gions of the lunar visible side; he maintains that it is first necessary to
reach agreement on the internationally established criteria and only then to
start the work on the geography of U.,e Moon aimed at. establishing physiographio
regions and districts. Up to the present time the problem of selenographic
description of the so-called crests 3ocated in seas was left without considera-
tion. The outlior proposes selenological terminology In the Czech language.

TEXT: An appliance is patc!nted which seaLres an automatic tuning of the
ultrasonic generator to the natu:~al frequency o..' an oscillating system end an
automatic maintenance of a given feed force. A capacitor, one plate of which
Is connected with the magnetostrictive core and the other is fastened aa the head
of the machine, serves as a feedback pickup. The capacitor is connected to the
frcquency-modulated oscillation circuit of the generator. The signal from the
generator is supplied to the input of the frequency discriminator from the outpvt
of which an alternating voltage with an oscillation frequency of the mogneto-
strictive core and a constant voltage proportional to the total capacitance of
the feedback capacitor and of i tuning capacitor connected parallel to It are
taken. The alternating voltage Is supplied to the input of the ultra.,sonic.
