Contribution to tha Phenomenological Theory of Paramagnetic
~elaxation in parallel Fields. 5~-7~3~/~
of the paramagnetioum has to be determined. For this purpose
the authors use an ezpreeaion for the modification elooity
of magnetisation and the first principal theory of the thermo-
dynamioa for spin systems. Up to nox the authors haae not
been able to apply the results found here to the solution of
any oonorts problems of paramagnetic relaxation.

~m~ The author considers lattice paramagnetic relaxat:on caused by the
f.~nl~'e heat eonductivitSr of the lattice. The times of spin relaxation, spin-
lattice and lattice relaxations are cale~alated and compared in adiabatic and
Isothermal approximatian~. It is shown that at helium temperatures and those
c~.se to them, lattice relaxation is essential aids-by_side with spin-lattice
rel.a,~atong and what spin relaxation is un-essential in moa+, eases under condi-
t~cn~ when lattice relaxation is essential.

Abstract: An investigation was made of 36 mechani~.ed and
not mechanized cheese factories, 6 milk collec-

green meadow plants. The bacteriophage was en-
countered more frequently at cheese factorise
the at milk collection cent~re;~and MFT, and more
often at factories which produce small cheeses

than at those that produce large ones, where the
conditions are less favorable for the propagation
of mesophylie streptococci and their phages.
Thorough daily disinfection reduces substantially
the degree of contamination of the factories with
phages . Least infected with phage $ of lac t 1~ ae id
streptococci are the MTF. The phages are rarely
encountered in soil of collective Farms and have
not been found on green meadow plants.

"The Application oP the Correlation Coefficient to the Study of the ~'aragenesis
of Minerals in Terrigenous Sediments," A. B. Yistelius, V. T. Belouesova~ All-

Studies of paragenesis oP minerals in terrigenous d epoaits reveal importance of
relationship between minerals. Suggests employing correlation coefficient "r"
as one oP the simplest meaettrAS o~ this r elationahip. Research data suFplied by
analyses of heavy Fractions oP samples from Kerman and Yasherian strata of Middle
Derronian deposits o f Leningrad region. Results grove advantages of analytical
methods and value in geological work. Submitted by F. P. 3sverPnakiy, E> Jul 194~~.
