showed, the interphase nuclei. Even so small a dose as 50 r is
enough to kill 30"fo of the spawn and to cause a high number of
cripples at the time of highest sensitivity. The above res,.~lte
give clear evidence of the dependence of the viability of the
embryos and their morphological damage (cripples) on the degree
of d.isturbation of the nuclear structures under the effect of
ionizing radiation. These ros~alte confirm the correctness of the
modern theory, according to which the nucleus plays the leading
part in the determinate-on o.f the type and the degree of a
damage in the organism caused by irradiation. Ther� are
