ABSTRACT.- The authors propose to use the Mossbauer spectra (M) of

nuc2ear absorption to investigate the excited states of the electron
shell and to
determine certain kinetic parameters of the system by meeisuring the
change induced
by.sufficiently strong light in the spectrum of a source or an
absorber Of 7 quanta
in the o
ptical excitation band. . This can be done if the lifetime of the
optically-
excited state is much longer. than the lifetime of the excited state
of the nucleus,
and the concentration of the Mossbauer centers affected 17 the

is comparable with or larger than the concentration of the centers

real systems.
Of particular interest for the determination of the parameters of
laser systems
are cases in vhicb optical population inversion can be realized. The
displacement
of the YS lines in the optical shift is determined by the same formula
as the
chemical shift. Additional important information can. be obtained from
the depend-
ence of the intensity ratio of the shifted and fundamentaINS lines on
ine illumi-
nation power. Thio dependence and the kinetic equation yield, for
example, the
probability of nonradiative transition between the electronic states.

Abstract: [Authors' Hungarian summary] On the basis of 86 oblerved
cases, the
complications anf'side effects which may arise from oil-contl%st
lymph6-
.,4~~graphy are discussed. The technique of finding the lymphatic
vessels is
accompanied by a transient discoloration of the patients' skin (86
cases).
Local inflammation (l case), suppuration, pain in the extremity
(24 cases),
lymphatic vessel rupture (I case) can be avo'Lded by using correct
technique..
Injection of the contrast into the vein by error did not occur
among the
cases reported. The possibility exists that tumor cells will be
spread further
by the method. In one patient, metastasis in the Virchow's lymph
node was

increasing temperature, and this increase is attributed, in
accordance
with various published data, to thermal excitation of the 4f
electrons
