Abstract: [Author's &glish summary, abbreviated) Mentally retarded fifth- grade pupils were given the task of imagining a short story they were told in a descriptive way with the aid of 40 different pictures. Other children in the same age group had to reproduce verbally the story they were told and then to Ltiagine it in a descriptive way. In the first series the enact- ment of internal speech was not accompanied by voiced verbal expressions; in the second series active w rbal reminiscence followed the hearinS, of the story. The experiment disclosed a new aspect of underdevelov,,,ient in internal speech in mentally defective children and pointed out the cor- rective part played by their active, voiced speech in the development of descriptive thinking. The mecha- nical load characteristics are governed mainly by design and assembling* parameters, by the power effects developing during rotation, and by the effects of warming-up during start-up. The method consists of cal- culating the forces independently and then superimposing them in an appropriate manner. The approximate results obtained with the ai.d of this technique'may be used for designing purposes.: or' igs artolmas: 8 figums and 2 forviaadv" _LCIiig,art, In Eng~7-fYPR4:_ 33,r"..7 SU13 CODS--09,, :Q/ SUM4 DATE: 14MaY63 I ORIG REF: 003 / SOV RIEF: 001 / OTH REF: BODOR, Nicolaet TKYO Ludovic; KIRCZ't Magdal HODOSAN, Francisc On the direct iodination of 20-oxopregnanes. (Svetotekhnika, 1-no.3, 1961, 21-24) TEXT: New types of electrode-light lamps, A4-3 (D4-3), A4C-3 (D4S-3), A-1 (D-1) and others, have been produced in the USSR. These lamps are considerably better than incandescent lamps in uniformity of radiation, though they are not so bright. The brightness may be increased by raising the incandescent temperature zf the discs. However, a great increase in brightness cannot be obtained in this way because the rise of temperature soon shortens the lamp life. A second, more helpful method, is to make the J~argest possible number of narrow ducts through the disc. In lamps of this type with a disc of 3 mm diameter there were, on average, 30 ducts with a mean depth of 0.9 mm. Each aperture radiated almost as a-black body. on averages the brightness of Card 1/2 New developments in electrode-light... s/196/61/000/009/012/052 E194/EI55 radiation from these discs was 25% higher. When using ultra- violet and particularly intense infra-red radiation the perforated discs of lamp envelopes are sometimes provided with fini, leuco-sapphire 'windows'. The function can assume finite and infinite values and be continuous (from Pn ~- Po there follows F(pn)----P'F(p0 )). The set F0of all points of G in which F(p) - c is called the set with niveau o of the function F(p). The point p* is an ordinary point of F(p) if p* possesses an arbitrarily small neighborhood which from all sets with niveau c is cut in a simple are (or is cut not at all). Else p* is critical. If all critical points are isolated, then the function is called simplo. The authors prove that in the neighborhood of each point p a simple function by corresponding homeomorphisms can be transferred into one of the following functionss F = X if p is an ordinary pointl F - R(X+iy)m (m;,-1) if p is a saddle point (i.e. critical point but no extre )I F = +(X2 +y2) if p is a point of the relative maximum or minimuml F - + ln(x2+72) if p is a pole (F(p) - oo). . Duplication of tile first and second sounds is also frquvnt. A relationship is assumed between tile degree of the systolic murmur and tile appearance of the diastolic murmur. Tho observed presystolic murmur is explained by a relative stenosis of the tricuspid orifice. This also provides support for the contention that the atrial murmur is determined by an increase in tile amount of blood flowing through the atrioventricular orifice. The venous curve shows the following characteristics-. (a) noticeably high and wide v-waves, (b) sUght or com- pletely absent diastolic collapse, (c) high a-wave. The behaviour of the v-wave of the venous curve and the smallness of the diastolic collapse might be connected with the size of the shunt. Budapest, Orvosi HetikR, Vol 104, No 30, 28 July 63, pages 1413-1415. Abstract: [Authors' Hungarian summary] The authors stress that the Synchron double reception is extremely helpful in the indication of timing and in diagnosis. Differentiation of the tone-factors is usually done easily. The transport of murmurs is recognized with more certainty than with ausculta- tion. The method differentiates well between systolic murmurs above the large vessels due to stenosis and systolic murmurs originating in the atrio- ventricular level due to regurgitation. This Is especially useful in cases of arrhytmia. In cases of combined heart disease, the method can be used In the evaluation of the extent of the disorder in individual valves. 3 Hungarian, 4 Western references. 1/1 BODROG I DIOSSZILAGYI, Gertrudp dr. "The Value of Dual Sound-Recordings in Practice" Budapest, Orvosi Hetilap Vol 107, No 29, 17 Jul 1966, pp 1354-1356. Abstract: The usefulness of double phonocardiograms, taken by the method described by the authors Ibid., Vol 104, 1963, p 1413, was discussed on the basis of three year's experience in using the technique. It was found that the method may be of especial usefulness in recognizing the early sytolic click and the diastolic noise caused by mild aorta regurgitation. In some other situations the dual recording may clarify phenomena that are masked or misleading in cases of direct listening or single recording. 16 references, including 3 Hungarian, 1 Czechoslovak, and 12 Western. 1/1 . gy,, dr.; DIOSSZWGYI, Gertruds, dr.; KOCSIS, Klarat dr* BODROG 9 _,,qpr Electrocardiographic changes in rbaumatio heart disease.
