Abstract: Comprehensive data on experimental study in
groups of 30 dogs
(-including 10 controls in each group), studying
histopathologically the
various tissues 6, 24, and 48 hours after the burn;
with stress on ad-
renals, kidney and spleen lesions. Conclusion is that
there is a defi-
nite pathological process whose stages can be
differentiated; the nucleic
acid content in various tissues is revelatory of the
stage of disease.

Abstract: Study of bone marrow cytology in dogs 24
and 48 hours after
severe burns; trends in leukocyte and erythrocyte
series are reported
and discussed. There is a marked difference between
the two stagesp i.e.,
hemoconcentration with erythrocytosis first, turning
later to anemia;
exhaustion of reticulo-endothelial system is part of
the second phase.

Abstract : Tetrahydrosylvano (1) and totrabydropyrane (II) are much
more effective extraction agents for U02(1'03)2 (III)
than ethyl other (IV) and ethyl acetate
(V). With a constant concentration of HN03 (0.25 N) and
111 (1 ng U in .12 ml) in the aqueous phase, ~ of extrac-
ted III increases wit-h concentration of N114NO3, The
salting-out effect Of 1414NO3 is least pronounced on
using IV and V as extracting agents. The most effective
extracting agent is I which removes 104 U from a solu-
tion that is 0.8 N i-n 14H 140 11 extracts III completely
