Title Preparation of Aurcomycin from Fermenting Fluids.
Orig Pu1b Med Doswiad. i Mikrobiolo., 1957, 9., No 1., 47-55
H.
Abstract In order to prepare aureomycin (I) from fermenting
fluids several precipitants are employed: 1) NaCl in
the presence of N-butanol (II) and amylacetate (corres-
ponding yields are 56-7 and 68. 3%).
2) "Kateesol" (quaternary -,.) base) (yield is
.yridine
86.4) pH 9.0. From acid solutions of (I) at hiGh
concentration of (II), (I) is obtained by fractional
alkalization with NaOH. A method of supplementary
treatment of post crystallized alkalis has been worked
out, whereby yield was increased by 5-3% and overall
Card 1/1 yield by 47.2%.

Title: Changes in Sodium Nitrite Content of Nitrite Ice
Original
Publication: Roczn. Panstw. Zakl. hig., 1956, 7, No 1, 35-42
Abstract: On the basis of investigations of ~O samples of nitrite ice, pre-
pared in the form of blocks measuring 54 x 27 x 8 am, it was ascer-
tained that the content of NaMp within different parts of the block
varies in the range of 0.5-187 M9% with an average content of 80 mg%.
On melting of the crushed ice the prodaminent portion of NaNO2 (58.3
m4 ) is found in the first two fractions which constitute 28-7% of
the melted ice. During storage over a period of 3 months of the ice
blocks, approximatelY 50% of the Initial content of NaNO2 had under-
gone reduction.

ABSTRACT: The Fourth All-Polieh Conference o*u Rocketry and Astrixw.,t4- in
Katowice, sponsored by Pblakie Towaraystwo Astronautycxne (LN)VWAst~onsuticsl

accomplishments. The society, composed of individuals interested or profess-

and organize research, as well an to obtain funds and needed equipment. Consid-
arable progress was noted in the biological section, directed by Prof. Dr. med.
