TEXT; The proposed device for the production of gaseous mixtures of
H2S, CS2 and C02 is characterized by the following points: The flop
rate of the liquid in the precipitation tank during the spinning of the
viscose into the tank is lower than the apinning rate. The precipitation
tank is closed hermetically; thus as tfie liquid flows out, the gaseous

ABSTRACT: The author presents a method for studying the stability of
a cylindrical
shell under longitudinal impact. The basic differential equations of
motion for
the internal surface of a shell subjected to a longitudinal impact
load at the edge
are taken from the literature. It is assumed that the shell does not
lose stability
along its entire length but only at the point where the longitudinal
compression
wave is propagated. A variational expression is given which describes
the vibrations
of this region of the shell. It is assumed that these variations
deviate from zero
only where the longitudinal compression wave is propagated. The
contact area between
Ithis disturbed section and the nondisturbed sections of the shell is
considered.
The author uses the Galerkin method for reducing tbe.variational
expression to a
