vices, etc.) The design descriptions are prpfaced with data regarding
the pirpose of helicopter components and their specifications. In
addition to the authors of the bibliographic references, a =mber of
scientists connected with the early history of helicopters are mentioned,
among them the helicopter designer and pilot A. M. Cheremukhin (alti-
tude record of 1932: 605 m). Gratitude (particularly for graphical
work) is expressed to Ye. I. Razhitskiy and Ye. 1. Semenov, engineers,
and A. V. Koroleva) technician.
