ABSTRACT: ~he removal of iron from zinc concentrates leads to
greater extraction of zinc and higher plant productivity.
Investigations leading to the development of a method based on
reversed flotation, which secures the simultaneous removal of
iron, copper and lead from zinc concentrates are described.
i-low diagrams for the process and for washing off reagents are
given, together with a tabulation of the concentrations and
extractions of the various products. The composition of the
concentrate used is: 4rffo Zn, 9% approx. Fe, 2.8% Cu, 3.5% Fb
and 2. 2%o SiO 2* The zinc concentratlon in the final -c)rod.uct
rises by 10-12% (that of iron decreasing to 1 - 1.5%), the
extraction of zinc from the separation reaction being 0,0-92%,
that of pyrites into the.pyritic product reaching 901/6 with
sometimes about the same extraction into it of copper and lead.
The process is considered to be economical (even when the
pyritic product is not used) because of its effect on the
1/1 productivities of zinc plants and yields.

Abstract: Another in a series of the author's comments for
need to revise the Official list of item.,; to be kept in
stock in pharmacies, in order to conform better to modern
proscription practices. Here she criticizes the inappro-
priate required concentration, especially of triturations
of the strong-acting atropine, strychnino, and physostig-
mine, u1nich are much too concentrated for the dilutions
called for by common prescriptions, which she illustrates
by way of an example. She also notes tho importance of
amending the Official List with respect -to physostigmine
triturates, since this substance is unstable in solution.
The three (3) references include two (2) in Polish and
one (1) Danish.

Title The Change in the Quality of Apple Juice in the Course of
Compressing.
Orig Pub Proem. spozywczy, 1958, 12, jio 4, 147-148.
Abstract The quality of juice was investigated in the process of
compressing at a press load of 1200 kilograms, a final
pressure of 10-15 kilograras por cmP., and process duration
from 30-40 minutes, and it vas found that in the extract
content at the end of compressing was 0.96% less on the
average, as compared to its original content of 7.8 to
12%, and a,decreaec in acidi*ul*y by 0.026% as compared to
the initial 0.77-0-91% of the juice. The observed phcno-
nonon is explained by the presence in apples of plant
cells of various ripeness anti it is therefore assumed
