ABSTRACT :Studies were conducted on the determination of
tannides in the roots of the above DIant, unearth-
ed at different seasons of the year. These roots
were dried at 500 until their water content was
&Dprox. 10%. &traetion- of tanning substances
was conducted in accordance with two different
methods. The tannide concentration in the rootswks
from 14 to 31%, on the average about 20%. The
highest tannide content was in the month of June.

indicated that hypoxia did bring about the syncope but the degree and frequency-

TEXT: The magnetrons types 30SA51 and 60SA511 developed in
the laboratorles of the Research Institute for Vacuum Electron
Teohnology are desc~ribed. The first type has an
output power of' 200 W at, a frequenoy of 2450 + 50 Mc/s and is
used as a source of high.-freque-noy energy for' medical
equipment and industrial apparatus. The magnetron 60SA51 has
an output power of 2 kW and operates at the same fi-equency;

Two postoperative recurrences in the iliac lymph nodes were treated intratumoral-
ly with a colloidal solution of Au'98. Administration was by the vaginal route and
through the abdominal wall; the dose was in one case 70 mc., in the other 65 mc.
In both cases the tumours regressed rapidly, and pain,subsided considerably. How-
ever, in the tumour extensive necrotic areas developed, the patients became febrile
and died in alew weeks. Autopsy revealed in both cases necrotic areas in the
tumour area, besides the signs of sepsis. Microscopically, occasional cancer nests
