ABSTRACT: ;The theory for bending of rectangular sandwich
plates with isotropic core and very thin transversely isotropic external
layers was developed from Lameian equations solved by a stepwise approxi-
mation method. Non-linear conditions existed only in some boundary cobdi- 1
tion3 and the principal equations were all linear. The application of the
.theory was illustrated with e numerical example. The intermediate and finall
terms were interpreted in terms of actual physical factors. TMM-t~~

The author studied unifoliate parabolically convex functions
in a unit circle which traneform this circle in aX -domain.
A2r -domain is defined as one possessing the following pro-
perties: 1) it lies in a plane notched along the non-nega-
tive part of the axis of real quantities; 2) if the point
a o( + ifl belongs to the X -domain, then the point a - c4 -
i also2belongs to i~ together with the section of the pa-
rabola y - 4c x + 4c ( 0 c +...) joining these two
points. Making use of some results of V.A. Zmorovich ana
M. Robertson f-Ref 1_7 the author derives a structural for-
mula Sor the class of the studied functions w - -1 - 2z
+ a z + ... expressing the necessary and sufficient con-
dition of the given function of the given class belonging to
given domain. The author gives also precise appraisals of
