ABSTRACT: An investigation has been made into the relationship of the
elastic modulus with temperature (ET) to the temperature of
heating on tempering and the relation of the saturation value to
the heat treatment of dispersion hardening alloys such as elinvar
N30VVe, N36KhTVe, N40TYu, N41KhT, N30VT, N36KhT.
It is shown that a low ET, highly dependent upon the temperature
of tempering, combined with a low saturation value (1000- 1200
gauss), is had by springs of N30VT alloy containing 2.7 percent
Ti after tempering at 3750 . However, the ET of this alloy
undergoes a pronounced change when the temperature changes
from 20 to 400 . It was not possible to obtain a low ET in
Card 1/2 springs of alloys with lower saturation values (N30VVe,

N36KhTVe, N36KhT). The ET of magnetic springs of N41KhT alloy under-
goes little change as temperature of tempering changes and is virtually inde-
pendent of temperature in the 20-400 interval.

o.4-0.8. The investigation was carried out for the purpose of discovering an
Elinvar alloy with a higher Curie point and a le~sser factor of thermal expansion
than those of-the Imown H41Xt (N41xhT).allo7. It.was found that by increasing
the Ni content and reducing the Ti content, an alloy can be obtiiBed which after

rapid cooling from 900 C and temperIng at 7009C has 6'b.-116 kg/mm IRo 33, H
19~,600 kg/mm4 and oG(6 - 7.2) . 10-b. This alloy oan be used for elastic sensi-
tive elements subjected to heating up to 1800C.
