The I type is characterized by a linited violent inflaimntory reaction of conjunctiva and partially of iris with fast reverse development and scar formation. Card 1/2 7 POLW/General Problems of Pathology - Pathophysiology of the U Infectious Process Abs Jour Ref Zhur Biol., No 6, 1959, 27269 In II type,@ta considerably development of inflar=,tory appearances in the eyeball leads to diffuse necrosis and destruction of the whole internal structure of the eye with a subscque;it restorative reaction which was characterized by growing in of surface and deep vessels into the painfully alterated cornea. This ty-pe has the character of a chronic t-aberculous focus (TF) without an expressed te;idency to disseni-iiation of the disease; i-,, other respects the animal re=ins practically healthy. In the III type, the Lifection disse,-duates along the lymph ducts up to regio,,j.,l nodes which in the final count leads to the death of animil. II type according to its course is close to chraiiic prodLctive tuberculo- sis ia man, and my be utilized for study of changes whic.'i occur urder the influence of various inter;ml a--id external factors in TF. -- M.A. Gruzmn Card 2/2 GA RB INS 1, Tadeusz; IMACHON, Zdislaw; ZWOLINSKI, Jerzy Possibilities of treatment of tuberculosis of the lungs with aerosols. The ashes were analyzed by a scintillation gamma spectro- meter. The distribution of monthly average individual and total activity was plotted by months. It revealed a shift of the usual spring maximum toward the summer of 1962, probably due to the unusually generous precipitation during the summer. The increase of fallout activity toward December of 1962, exceeding 200 microcuries/tquare kilo- meter, month can be explained by the arrival of fresh fission products. This was con- firmed by plots of the activity ratios: 141 144 95 144 CeACe + Pr) and (Zr j Nb) (Ce + Pr) The second ratio showed a sudden rise in August - November. The cumulative fallouts Card 1/2 - L 27867-66 ACC NR, AT5023946 144 were calculated with the consideration of the intrinsic decay, For (Ce - Pr) they reached the level of 80 nicrocuries/ square kilometer. Inspite of the excess of oxygen in the blood, soon after the introduction of histamine, heart failure occured. The reason for histamine shock appears to be the insufficient heart capacity for work and not the oxygen deficiency in the heart muscle. Card 1/1 - 17 - GARBULINSKA, .; sTRZELCZYK, P.; LINDNER, I. Unspecific reaction of the circulatory system to 'isolated extremity' stimuli and their photoliaemotachometric analysis ACTA PHYSIOL. POL. 1957, 811 (77-92) Graphs 9 Evidence characterizing the unspecific reaction of the circulatory svstern to stimuli of the isolated extremity is*cited and the course of the h1emodynamic changes de- veloping in these reflex reactions is analysed. The discussion is based upon kymo- grams and photograms obtained with Cybulski's photoliaemotachometer modified by Klisiecki. The paper also contains critical remarks concerning the application of the method of the isolated organs in investigations on angioreception. The majority of experiments were performed with acetylcholine. Adrenaline, histamine, arse- nates, O.IN-11CI, O.IN-NaOll. llgC12, NaCl, KC1. atropine, strychnine, nitro- glycerin and various concentrations of glucose were also examin@d. Three succes- sive reflex reactions of the circulatory and respiratory systems n the same animal and to the same acetylcholine doses introduced at short intervals to a Ringer-Locke solution (38% 120 mm.11g) perfusing the vessels of the rabbit's isolated hind limb are illustrated. The non-uniformity of the reaction proves the unspecific action of acetylcholine of the isolated parts of the body. If separate electric stimuli (3 per sec.) have been associated with the acetylcholine stimulus, one obtains as a rule reverse reactions of the arterial pressure from those when these stimuli acted separately. The power of the chemical stimulus is added to the electric stimulus, the acetylcholine action is summed with the influence of separate electric stimuli and evokes effects of tetanic current action. In the search for proofs for specific acetylcholine action the Kosztojanc and Turpajew method was used concerning the abolition of acetylcholine action by blocking the free S11 groups In tissues by means of salts of heavy metals. The negative result of the experiments is presented. q C With regard to acetylcholine, the atropine action was investigated but the results were also non-uniform. The reflexes of the circulatory system to the osmotic stimuli acting from the isolated extremity of the rabbit indicate that there are no qualitative dLfferences in the reflex action to NaCl, KCI and glucose. Therefore there are no convincing grounds to consider chloride as a selective -timulus for testing the sensibility of receptors. Na salts being less toxic than K salts. are more suitable for this purpose. This Is especially important in the experiment In which other chemical stimuli are used following such a control test. The photo- haernotachometric analysis of the course of the circulatory system's depressive reaction to the acetylcholine stimulus acting from the isolated extremity, indicated the heart's and vessel's cooperation in this reflex. The depressive heart reflex is independent of the vagus nerve. Due to the dilatation to the vessels, the photo- haernotachometer records a distinct increase of the blood flow when the blood pressure begins to rise from the depression of 20 nim. lig.
