TEXT: The development and production of control elements for heaavy-
current circuits is concentrated today in the ZPA industrial auto-
mation factories (Czechoslovakia). New develop=ants are described.
A series of control cabinets is beinm produced for the automatic
regulation of the speed of rotation of motors from 1.00 to 3000 rpm.
with direct control of the armature circuit for 0.4 to 6 kV1 power
and using the generator-motor scheme for up to 40-00 k.'W. Some cabi-
nets use magnetic amplifiers and others use ele,--ronic ones. A se-
ries of.electronic and magnetic amplifiers makes possible the con-
tr,ol of low-power motors which, in conjunction with hydraulic ser-
vomotors, form follow-up control systems of machine tools, ensuring

A test utilizing the procoagulation effect of trypsin mixed with calcium
proved valuable in evaluating the effect of heparin, heparinoids and their
antidotes in rabbits. In evaluating the effect of cournarin anticoAgulants the
trypsin test, as compared with Quick's test, shows certain differences which
might be significant both theoretically and ractically for a better undcr-

The effects of ergot alkaloids, of some of their partially synthetic analogues and
of 5-HT on blood clotting were tested by recalcification, Quick, trypelft and
thrombin tests in vitro. and by trypsin tests and thrombo-elastography in vivo
(rabbit). It was found that ergotamine and ergonovine reduced clotting time in
vivo. With a series of cycloalkyIamides of D-lysergide, clotting time was reduced in
experiments in vitro following the addition of the cyclopropyl-. cyclaoutyl- and
cycloheptylamides, while It tended to be prolonged by addition of the cyclopentyl-
and cyclohesylamides. In these tests lymergide (LSD) and 5-tff had no effect on
coagulation. In vivo. 5-HT reduced clotting time. The mechanism of the action of
ergot alkaloids in checking post-partum haernorrhage is discussed.

"Some Periphcral Circulatory Effects of Analogues of Vasopressin with an
Increased Length of the Chain."
Prague, ces~oslovens'-a Yv-siolo,'ic -397
A . -1, Vol 15, No 5, Sep 66, pp 396
Abstract: Influence of analogues of vasopressin with an increased length
of N-ac lated chain on the peripheral effect on arteries was investigated.
Hemostatic effect ;-nd inhibition of inflammation effect of the substances
are discussed. Getapressin is the most effective, but triglycylvasopressin
has the longest lasLing effect. Phenylalanylvasopressin behaves similarly.
Oxytocin derivatives arc practically without influence. The substances
act synergetically with catecholamines. Swellings inducod by a local
application of histamine or serotonin are inhibited up to 90%. No

Abstract: A pyenameter-(P) consisting of a glass flask with a capacity of ca.
one liter with a conical lid having a 6 mm opening at the top was
used by the authors in determining moisture content. First, the
weight P of the pycnameter filled with water is determinedj next,
P is ;~Iied and refilled with one kg of the material to be in-
--stigated, water Is added, and the metallic cap screwed on. The
flask is sV-kpn to remove trapped air bubbles, after which water is
added up to the mark and the flask weighed again. The weight

ABSTRACT: The authors study the crystal structure of EuNis' TmNiq and L fi The
atomic radii of Tm and Lu are close to those of other rare earth metalE4n the yttrium
group, which indicates that RNi5 compounds with a CaCU5 type structure might be found
in the Tm-Ni and Lu-Ni systems. Since the atomic radius of Eu (2.62 A) is greater than!
that of any of the metals which form the RNi5 compounds, the existence of EuNiS is als
feasible. X-ray diffraction analysis proves the existence of the compounds EuNi5,
TmN15 and.LuNi5 with a CaCuS type structure. Comparison of the lattice constants for.
all RNi5 compounds shows that the cerium atoms in CeN15 are in a tetravalentstate,
while the rare earth atoms for all the remaining compounds including those of'Eu and
Yb are in a trivalent state. This article was presented for publication by Academicl

ABSTRACT: Metallographic and x-raX structural methods were used to study the
mutual solubility and properties of alloys of the quaternary systems V3Si-VX,
where X - Ge, Sn, At, or Be. The microhardness and lattice constants were
measured. The existence of continuous solid solutions V (Si,,0e) and V30i, Sn)

and a limited solubility of At (about 8 at.%) and Be (less than 0-2 at.%) in the
compound V3S' were established. The critical temperature T. of transition to the

Abstract Lluthors, English summary modified.7t Localization of
gammajr--gl-obulin and of the complex allergen reagin in skin and
mucosa specimen was investigated by immunofluorescent methods*
GammajA-globulin In found in the dermal layer of the skin, and
not in the epidermis* In the muoosa it in in the subepitholial
layer, and in the epithelium it was not detootedo Where 4,11sr-
gio reaction takes place the globulin is found in the epidermis.
Reagins are really a part of gammajA-globulln. 4 Figures, 16
