Abstract It was demonstrated in experiments an isolated hearts of
rabbits and dogs (pups)., that by stimulation of nervii va-
gii with faradic current,, a roaction from the side of the
coronary vessels (CV) is always absent; this argues that
fluctuations of the frequency and paver of heart contrac-
tions do not macbmically change tha diameter of.CV. Sti-
mulation of the sympathetic nerve produces narrowing or
wideninS of CV* A~1&'t= centrifugal nerves for heart
Musclos,, in the sympathetic nerve there are vasoconstric-
tors and vasodilators for CV., which is also confirmed by
experiments with the introduction of adranalin.

with carbide-tipped-tools,on a lathe and a boring machine were

accompanied by displacem ent measurements from which the
expansion of the tools during cutting could bededuced. The
time required for thermal equilibrium was determined experi-
mentally. Plotting the tool expansion against:the cuttin*
speed shows a rapid rate of increase beyond a certain speed,
when the blunting of the rear Ledge of the tool changes the
process and a large expansion results without reaching an
equilibrium even after about 15 min. The,threshold between-,
the two speed regions is a certain critical speed.and a, limiting
wear of the.cutting tool.. With cast iron of 185Brinell bard-
ness, the limiting wear amounted to 0.5 -'0.6 mm. and the crit-

The Damping of Vibrations During Operation of a

Having stated that a lack of,vibration-damping in
rotating tools considerably lowers the cutting re-
gime of the tool within the vibration-dangerous
work zones, the author describesa percussionvibra-
tion-damper with adjustable play, invented by him,
and made in two variants RVG-1 (4.25 kg) and RVG.-2
(9.8 kg), Both vibration-dampers~were tested on
boring cast iron and showed better results than the
vibration-damper LPI. With the use of the vibration-
damper RVG-1, the open length of~spindle could be
increased by 50-100 mm; with the us6'o,f the vibra-
tion-damper RVG-2, by 125-175 mm. The application
of percussion vibration-dampers on the radial bor:Ing

The Damping of Vibrations During Operation of a Revolving Tool
machine "Rabomall with counterbore,hard alloy plates
resulted in a four-fold speed-up of machining work
better cleanness of the surface and four to five
fold stability of the tool. The author recommends~
the percussion vibration-dampers for application
in boring, counter boring, drilling and milling.work
