Abstract problem of natural selection is examined
and proof is made that it is a biologi-
cal factor wh*ich emerges as a result of
the interaction between the organisms and
the environment and which is based on
undetermined modification but which leads
to definite ...ddaptive reactions. The
deep materialistic essence of Darwinism
is in the fact of the importance oP the
mutual relations between organisms;
however, the theory of the creative role
of direct adaptation does not explain the
adaptation to biotic factors. It is noted
that only those biological sciences begin
to successfully develop which are linked
with the basic materialistic premises of
Charles Darwin,

Simultaneous Measurement of the Friction Force and the Force of

the outer and the outer cradle inside the body are floated
on force transmitting suppoi' ts. 1n each case, the force
is transmitted by an end piece with a ,,,lane or spherical
surface through a freoly floatin- ball to a plz~te or
membrane which is either a SOPRI'ate comporient or the bottem
of a cup component. The dcflections of the membranes are
picked off by inductive transmitters converted into elec-
trical signals and recorded by an 8-charuiel electro=E;netic
oscillograph. Special precautions are needed in iicaouring
the tool angles and in adjusting the Cap between the upper
and lower tool bits to a width below 0.63 mm to avoid the
