Abstract The theoretical basis of the method of application of
one-center vave functions to hydrid molecules with
tetrahedral symetry are developed. Methods are descri-
bed of constructing the wave functions both by the me-

structures. An approximate calculate procedure is in-

TEXT: This article deals with the problem of planning technolo-
gical processes, The errors in technological processes are due
to lack of precision of machines and tools, wear of tools, de-
formation of machines and tools due to mechanical and tempera-
ture causes, lack of precision of measuring instruments and pro-
ceases. They are classified into systematic - predictable ana-
lytically, and accidental - unpredictable from the point of view
of occurrence and magnitude. Systematic errors are differentia-
ted into constant errors for a certain batch of the product and
varying errors during the production, An error is made up of the
sum of systematic and accidental errors and should not exceed
the tolerance limit. There are three ways of predicting technolo-
gical processes: 1) based on the experience of the producer;

2) analytical; 3) statistical. The author limits his discussion
to the last one. It is based on "a posteriori" measurements on
a batch of the product, Its fault is ascribed to the investiga-
tion of casual effects. Nevertheless, it is a powerful method,
in the opinion of the author. when used diligently, Using L6vy's
probability theorem, the accidental error variable must possess
a disposition approaching the normal. The total error can, there-
fore, be represented by Laplace - Gauss's exponential functionv
called the density of the probability function (Fig. 3) and

problem the systematic variable a-ad accidental errors define the
shape of the function and the systematic constant errors give
the position of the neutral axis. The scatter of errors is con-
fined to t 3 ewhich gives 99-73% probability, and the range
6 cr should not exceed the tolerance, The number of measurements
for automatic mass production is-100 to 200 and for serial pro.-
duction 15 - 20 pieces. The above is illustrated on a practical
example from the automatic production of rivets on a batch of
150 pieces. The errors are given in Table III, frum which 5E
( = .0035 mm) and a( = .00316 mmo given tolerance ,10 mm) were
found and the results2 actual and theoretical shown graphically.
Other figures show the variation of errors in time of production
which takes into account wear, deformation and temperature
changes of machines and tools and operator's fatigue, and the
plot of o against time of production; when it goes outside the
limits of tolerance the machinery requires resetting. Then the
author proceeds to discuss the accuracy of assemblyc. He illus-
trates this on the assembly of a wing spar (Fig. 10), The error
in the depth of the spar is given as the sum of errors of its

TITLE: The influence of seam welding parameters on the cor--
rosion of welding joints of light alloy welds

TEXT: The author describes the experiments performed on electri-
cally seam-welded durol sheets in order to study the corrosion of
welded joints in sea water and to find the influence on the
strength of weld of the current density, time and pressure applied
during the welding process. Welds were subjected to tensional
strength tests and micrographs were taken for batches of samples
immersed in sea water for 1, 2 and 3 months. The results revealed
that the corrosion started to propagate from the cracks and from
the grain boundaries and it was concluded that insufficient elec-
trode pressures at low current densities were responsible for the
increased rate of corrosion. There are 12 figures and 1 table.
