The signal transducer at the sending end and the pulse-time signal selector at the receiving end are based on a special bridge-type semiconductor exponential converter. The transmitter generates two pulses: a cynr pulse and a paramoter Card 1/2 ACC NRi AT6011829 pulse. The sync pulse triggers a pulse generator at the receiving end; the paramete?, pulse stops this generator; the nun-ibex of counted pulses represents the measurand. The counter controls either a digital display device or an electric printer. Block diagrams and some principal circuits are shown. Preliminary tests have shown a basic system error (less transmitter) of 1 0. 516. Orig. art. has: 12 figures and I I formulas. TITLE: The Amino Acid Composition of Proteins During the Maturing of the Offspring of Sprats (Clupea sprattus) From the Gulf of Riga (Aminoicialotnyy sostav belkov v protsesse sozrevaniya 'lov. o ykh produktov u salaki Rizhskogo zaliva) p PERIODICAL; Doklady Akademii nauk SSSR, 1958, Vol 122, Nr 6, PP 1071-1072 (USSR-) ABSTRACT; The problems of the physiology and especially of the bio- chemistry of-fish*in the time before and during spawning are investigated only very insufficiently. In order to fill that gap the authors undertook the task of making clear the changes in the content of amino acids in the muscles and offspring of the sprat spawning in spring. They ascertained an instability in the content of amino acid in the course of' the ovo- and sper- matogenesis. From the data given in tablel it can be seen that the content of arginine in the muscle proteins of the female is almost constant in the 2nd and 3rd stage of maturing (9-95 - 9.30%). From the 4th stage of maturing onward the content of Card 11,41 arginine decreased rapidly (down to 5.16%). Not all amino acids ~301.1/20-122-6-32/49 ~7 the Ea Lg fif th- rff 'he r'.mino Acia -,omposition of r-roteins Durins - 6__ __1r,;~__._S "pr-ts (Clupea sprattus) From the-Gulf of Riga take part in the maturing process of the offspring to the same extent. There is a slight iincrease in the content of' histidine in the proteins of the muscles of a female up to the 5th stage of maturing (:from 1.21 to 1.65~6) which goes then down to 0.90% in'the-5th Ertage. There a-re also some changes in the content of-aromati-L-amino acids during the spawning: during the ovo- genesip.of.the remale tryptophane is reduced from 2.73 to 1.02% and tyrosine from 345 to 2.66%. With the maturing of the gonads- the relative content of methionine in the muscles de- creases from 3.69 to 1.68%. There is a slight increase in the content of methionine, arginine, and histidine in females after spawning (6th stage of maturing). it was found that, according ta,the degree of maturing of the gonads, amino acids are ac- cumulated. Thus in a male only a few irreplaceable amino acids were found in the 2nd stage of maturing: lysine, histidine, arginine, methionine, and tryptophane, while in female gonads allart*f,rom thoge-already mentioned also "threonine" was found. In the gonads of both sexes the leucine group was found in the Card 2/4 3rd stage of maturing. In the 4th and 5th stage almost all 3 S011120-122-6-z21419 -During t h e Kfa 41-uring of tt-_ C--: Z-_rt.- ~7 from "he Guif cr Riga a-~Iino acids are found in their gonads. The tyrosine content, hr)-~,ever, decreases in the course of the spermatogenesis of the ;-,alr, from 6.21 to O.Wa. The histidine accumulation in the of male gonads toox place more intensely than in Table 1) where its content remained practically con- ot,_nt. A similar situation was observed with sturgeons (Ref 2). In the proteins of the gonads of both sexes the arginine con- tent increases. In the muscles the reverse phenomenon is the case: while in the case of the sprat the arginine content in the muscles of the male increased, it decreased with the ma- turing of the gonads of the female. From the phenomena describ- ed above it can be concluded that the amino acids of the muscle proteins during the ovo- and spermatogenesis undergo complicated changes. They are mainly employed in the development of the .A.'fsprincr. There are 1 table and 4 Soviet references. VychislitelInaya tekhnika i avtomatizatslya na morskom flote (Computer technology and automation in the merchant n-.arine), 82-86 TOPIC TAGS: teletype, electronic digital computer, alphanumeric code, signal coding, analog digital converter ABSTRACT: The authors consider merchant marine fleet operations control system consisting of two Independent, but interconnected, units: a digAal computer and an information transmitter (teletype). Of all available computers, the "L'ral" and "Alinsk" are the most suitable for this function. The conversion of the information Incominr from the communication line (open-N-Are and/or radio) in teletype code and its subsequent representation In a form suitable for read-in into the program -assigning computer is discussed. Computer design considerations are ana- lyzed in the light of this requirement, and the conversion of the 5-positlon teletype code to a L 02262-67 A:6C_Wk_._AT6614777___ 6- or 7-position binary computer code Is studied. The use of conversion equipment in con- junction with a 6-position binary code is shown to be the most suitable approach, with the alpha- numeric code unit of the "Ural-211 preferred in a slightly modified form. The possibilities of using specific codes when there is no logical relation between the codes at the input and output of the converter are analyzed in detail, and a pertinent table is given. A structural diagram is proposed for a device designed to feed data from the paper tape of the teletype through the con- verter to the computer. For Information read-out from the tape, the read-out unit and tape- advance mechanism of the "hUnsk" Inpnt unit are recommended. At a read-out rate of 800 symbols/see the device described permits the automatic Introduction of 8192 and 5120 alpha- numeric characters to the ferrite storage units of "Ural-211 type equipment and the operational memories of "MinskLl" equipment, respectively.
