Title : Regeneration of Traumatizcd Nerve under the Conditions
of Stimulation and Inhibition of Central Nervous System.
Orig Pub Tr- Krymsk. med. in-ta, 15157, 17, 99-106
Abstract In rabbits, compression of' the sciatic nerve for the
duration of 4 minutes by c. looped string with a weight
of 110 g suspended from it induced degeneration of the
nerve. Subcutaneous introduction of a therapeutic dose
of caffeine speeded up the restoration of functions
(respiration and flexor reflex to electric stimulus were
registered) and morphologic regeneration of the nerve.

Abstract : In 50 newborn animals (kittens and puppies) related
changes of' the activity of the heart in relation to the
complex suckling reflex were noted. The ezchange of
arythmia to the rhythmic w:)rk of the heart in suckling
was discovered (especially in puppies). Reflex reactions
of the heart (in suckling an empty nipple) were expeessed
in an increase of frequency of the rhythm of contractions,
increase of amplitude of P and T waves, and decrease of

ABSTRACT:
These experinrants were conducted on etherized male rabbits cooled in a con-
tainer with snow to a mininium rectal temperature of 19-20C. When maximmum
hypothermia'had been attained they were killed. Approximately one vdnute
later the brain was removed and howgenized in a mixture containing ice,
0.25 M t;ucrose, and 0 '1001 M EDTA. Somv results of the experiment are shown
in the following tab-es and figures. It was found that Ca++, ions have a
stronger -dissociatirig-6-ffec't-,"i4hile cy-steln7infUnsifies the oxidating capacizy
