ABSTRACT; The author gives a description of the chemical-metal-
lurgical plant-ca;Lled "Gh. Gheorghiu-Dej" which was
founded after.WW,I. The variety of the products in
those times is enumerated. The increase of the main
production is tabulated, comparing the years 1949 ands
1958.. The percentage increase was for: sulfuric acid.-.
140, hydrochloric.acid 140P sodium sulfide 242,3, so-,
dium bichromate:148,,,leacl.minium 230, lead sheet
761. Among the improvement measures are.quoted.: eli-
mination. of harmful sources, such as that 6f'the. ar-
s,en.salts factoryq~ due to the vicinity of the center
of Baia Mare.- In the lead concentrates section, in-
vestments were~ used for thefiltration of gases and
replacement of obsolete equipment (meltingy.-jagglomera-

observed. The lack of Cs ion-scattering at high temperatures means that
Ca ion scattering on a..coldlfo target must be due to the film of adsorbed
heavy atoms which evaporate at. high, temperatures. The coefficient of ion
scattering from metal surfaces can be-estimated from the relation

The deviations (at low energ .ies the theoretical curves lie above, and at

cross section increases more rapidly and 1-5/d,/,
